Chilean state copper giant Codelco has issued an international tender call for construction and operation of a mini hydro plant to be installed in the tailings dam at El Teniente mine in central O’Higgins region (VI). The 3 MW project will feed electricity in to the SIC grid. The tender shows Codelco’s growing confidence in, and support for renewables.
