SolarReserve and Oz Minerals develop unique project

There is growing momentum in Australian mining for mine operators to take control of their energy supply. Faced with price and security concerns, many mines in Australia are looking to benefit from cheap, reliable renewables to reduce mining energy costs. Once such example of this is a project announced last week by SolarReserve and Oz Minerals.  Oz Minerals is exploring a number of options to reduce grid and diesel demand including efficiencies, wind, solar and storage. As part of the shift towards securing power, the new project with SolarReserve focusses on cost-sharing of a new transmission line that connects remote mines and renewables facilities with the grid. This is a really interesting and innovative development.
