Three years’ ago Rio Tinto’s Diavik mine installed four 2.3 MW wind turbines to help power its remote operation in Canada’s North West Territories. This project was first presented at the Energy and Mines Toronto summit in 2013. Two years on from the project launch, Liezl van Wyk , Manager, Mine Technical Services & SCAP , Diavik Diamond Mines, Rio Tinto attended the 2015 Energy and Mines Summit in Toronto to provide an update on this ground breaking project.
