Oroplata S.A, an Argentine subsidiary of the Canadian holding Goldcorp Inc, has contracted Genneia, a primary investor in renewable energy projects in the Argentine Republic, to supply its operations with 38,000 MegaWatthours of renewable energy over the next ten years. Genneia is in the process of significantly expanding their holdings in Argentina. Currently, the company has two wind farms in operation but has recently acquired three photovoltaic solar parks from Energy 360 and successfully tendered for several additional wind farms, including the 220 MW Madryn Wind Farm, as part of Argentina’s RenovAr renewable energy auction. This contract represents Genneia’s second partnership with a large industrial user after the company was contracted in 2016 to provide 14 MW of energy, generated at their Rawson wind farm, to concrete producer Loma Negra.
