“We firmly believe that renewable energy generation has reached a point where a profitable zero-emissions mine is entirely possible,” comments Neil Canby, Executive Director, Sunrise Energy Group. “For me, the current level of interest and engagement [with mines] is the highest it’s ever been, and I suspect it’s only going to increase.”
In an interview available to download here, Canby provides insight on Sunrise’s approach to partnering with mines on off-grid and grid-tied projects and the strength of this market segment for renewables. “I firmly believe that commercial and industrial solutions will be the primary focus for the next 24 months as that customer base looks to take control over their energy costs more directly.”
Sunrise Energy Group is partnering with Image Resources to deliver its 3-4 MW solar farm for its Boonanarring mine and processing plant, which are currently under construction.
