Every year, miners from around the globe leverage the platform of the Energy and Mines World Congress to discuss new projects or carbon reduction commitments. Despite being held virtually, this year was no exception. With over 440 attendees, including 140 mining participants, the conference was conveniently organized in six content pods: some covering the general path to zero-emission mining operations and fleets, and others offering more specific insights around local challenges in South America, North America and Africa. With most large miners having to deliver on ambitious carbon targets by the end of this decade, it is clear to see that the pace of innovation and technology adoption is picking up.
