Japanese shipping company Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, Ltd. (K Line) has signed a memorandum of understanding with mining company Anglo American to establish a working committee for collaborative research on decarbonization.
Anglo American is a leading, global mining company with a portfolio of competitive, world class operations and a broad range of future development options. K LINE has been engaged in the seaborne transportation of raw materials for Anglo American.
The two companies will share research and knowledge of new marine technology and alternative fuels to achieve their common goal of achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions.
This collaboration aligns with K Line’s Medium-Term Management Plan, which prioritizes the marine transportation of coal and iron ore while contributing to sustainable development and environmental protection.
