The SANY SET150 Hybrid Dump Truck Is Operating At The MOF-3 Copper Complex In Central Asia

For the MOF-3 copper concentrating complex in Uzbekistan, Central Asia, a part of the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Company, over 60 of SANY SKT105 mining trucks with a capacity of 75 tons have been delivered to Enter Engineering, the contract miner for the project.

For MOF-3, Enter also recently acquired a SANY SET150 dump truck with a carrying capacity of 150 tons and a body volume of 78 m³, which is said to be the only one of its kind in the world.

The SET150S hybrid mining truck has a Weichai WP17, Deutz TCD 18.0, or Volvo Penta TAD 1643 engine and a CRRC TEC electric drive system. It has an isolated hydraulic system, two large energy accumulators, two independent braking systems with the main brake being electric. There is also a spare set of hydraulic brakes for added safety. Moreover, the truck’s energy management system fully absorbs braking energy and allows it to stop easily.

The SANY truck currently being used by Enter Engineering is also undergoing testing in a Russian coal mine in the Kuzbass region.

Meanwhile, SANY updated in its 2022 interim report that it has stepped up the development of wide-bodied vehicles that are hybrid, pure electric, and have battery-replaceable capabilities. While prototypes of the SKT130, SKT130Pro, and SKT160 have completed test production, the first SET150 electric dump truck has been sold to Central Asia as noted above.

Additionally, the SKT105EC electric wide-bodied vehicle, which has integrated charging and replacement, has been launched and has received 15 orders.
