Liebherr-Mining Equipment Colmar SAS has signed a contract with new customer Nguvu Mining Ltd for the supply of 13 Liebherr T 236 mining trucks to be delivered to the Nzema Gold Mine in Ghana’s Western Region.
The vehicles will be manufactured in France and delivered to the mine site from mid-2023. Liebherr-Ghana will support assembly, commissioning and operation, providing technicians, training and vendor held stock as well as remanufacturing services and parts at the Tarkwa facility.
The gold mine is working towards an annual target of 120,000 troy ounces of gold, with the trucks set to help achieve this goal by hauling overburden and oxide ore. The 100-tonne class trucks have high take-off torque and increased traction on haul roads above a 12% gradient.
An OEM-certified product support representative will be assigned to the site for 12 months. Nguvu Mining’s CEO, Angela List, said the Liebherr team in Ghana was a “trustworthy and transparent partner” and described the trucks as a “strong addition” to the company’s mobile equipment fleet.
