VivoPower and its subsidiary Tembo e-LV have signed a memorandum of understanding with Indonesia’s Petrosea for the marketing and distribution of Tembo electric conversion kits for Toyota 4×4 vehicles.
Petrosea has agreed to sell 2,000 Tembo e-LV conversion kits through December 2027, subject to the final agreement’s terms and conditions. The Tembo kits convert diesel-powered Toyota Land Cruiser and Hilux vehicles into electric light vehicles for hard-to-decarbonize sectors such as mining.
Petrosea is a contract mining, engineering, procurement and construction, and oil and gas services firm with a sustainability strategy prioritizing ESG. The company provides pit-to-port mining solutions, integrated engineering, procurement, and construction capabilities, and logistic support.
VivoPower’s turnkey solutions for decarbonization include Tembo e-LV products alongside solar energy, battery storage, and on-site power distribution. Last month, a Tembo electric Landcruiser crossed 5 years in active service at an operating mine site for multinational metals, mining, and smelting company, Boliden. VivoPower believes this to be the longest actively serving electrified light utility vehicle in the mining industry globally.
VivoPower and Petrosea aim to finalize the agreement at the earliest.
