Oriana Power Commissions Floating Solar Power Plant For India’s Daroli Mines

Oriana Power has successfully completed the commissioning of Indian state Rajasthan’s first floating solar power plant, which has a capacity of 800 kW AC/1 MW DC.

The plant was constructed for Udaipur Cement Works, a subsidiary of JK Lakshmi Cement, and is situated at the Daroli Mines in Udaipur. Commissioned within just six months, it cost INR 6 crores (US$ 0.73 million).

Oriana Power was responsible for the project’s engineering, procurement, and construction, as well as a five-year maintenance and operation contract.

The plant is expected to generate 1.7 million units of clean electricity annually and will help to prevent around 1,000 tons of CO2 emissions. It would also save approximately 8000 cubic meters of water evaporation per year.

The project is the fifth for Oriana Power in Rajasthan.
