CarBon, an electric vehicle leasing, rental, and subscription company, has collaborated with electric vehicle conversion company Roev to introduce the first fully electric 4×4 Toyota HiLux in the Australian market. The two companies anticipate producing over 1,000 electric HiLux utility vehicles in the first year to meet the growing demand from the resources and construction sectors.
CarBon aims to supply more than half of these vehicles to commercial fleet operators looking to transition to zero-emission transportation. The electric HiLux will also be utilized in a major pilot program in Western Australia’s northwest, involving several resources companies.
The CEOs of both companies highlight the high demand for commercial electric vehicles in Australia and the potential of electric conversions in accelerating the transition to cleaner transportation. According to CarBon, commercial electric vehicles present an opportunity to significantly reduce Australia’s emissions.
The ROEV 4×4 All Electric HiLux will be available for purchase, lease, or subscription through CarBon starting in February 2024.
